How We Spent the Lost Last Year in Lockdown
It has been a little while since our last written update, therefore we decided to share our latest news about gigs, music and video releases. Despite the fact of living during pandemic times, we tried to stay together and keep a positive vibe, creating more music practicing for new gigs, recording and filming new music and videos, always with only one simple thing in mind: having as much fun as possible as we could. It is unevitable, thought, to not feel like many artists, we missed performing regularly, so we’ve been doing the only option that a band could do: preparing a new musical setlist and even speding our money on buying some new toys for our new sound. Some of you may have heard some of our new music on various radio stations over the confinement period and we are grateful to every DJ for playing it! So, all the material you see comes from our own sources and funding- and is done in between our boring day jobs! We do it because we bloody love it!! And that’s why we appreciate any collaborations and publicity received, so thank you, firstly, to you for reading this and please give us a like and a follow so we can get back gigging playing for you soon!
During this last year, we had fairly limited opportunities to perform anywhere other than our underground rehearsal studio, so we have been writing new music. We plowed our energy into developing and recording our new material, much of which are reflections on current times, memories, or emotions in life. Our most recent ´The Now (Taste the Sun)´ was written before the Covid-19 pandemic, yet still applies- I think everybody during lockdown wanted a taste of the sun!
Here are our new tracks, along with the lyrics:
Spectacular Disaster was a song very fitting for the last year for Foxiloro. It is an original song written about feelings of entrapment in doing the things society says we should do but still not really feeling fulfilled and happy; getting caught up with work and not aspiring to do things that we really want to do, because of what other people think. Everyone is living for the first time!

I took care of Business
and forgot how to dream
Does anyone have the answer
I look above and scream
I know you took your last chance
It’s time for us to grow
Spectacular disaster
How little do we know
I can’t change this feeling
I can’t change this feeling
How long is the distance
Mapped upon your heart
No one has the answer
Echoes from the stars
I can’t change this feeling
I can’t change this feeling
Wake me in the morning
If I’m not already gone
No one has the answer
So no one can be wrong
I can’t change this feeling
I can’t change this feeling
Surreal
Surreal has a great bass line and some ace psychedelic guitar sounds throughout. We wrote the music first by jamming together until we found a rhythm we loved and that allowed us to lay the lyrics over the top. The song is about feeling overwhelmed and in awe of reality and aspects of life sometimes.

Gonna tell you
How I feel
Got me feeling surreal
And my feelings are real
Let me tell you how I feel
(oh so real)
Let me tell you how I feel
I´m feeling surreal
Wanna tell you how I feel
Just how I feel
You got me feeling
Surreal
And my feelings are real
(oh so real)
Let me tell you how I feel
I´m feeling surreal
And my feelings are real
Let me tell you how I feel
Oh so real
Let me tell you how I feel
I´m feeling surreal
Wave Survivor
Wave Survivor was written about the ongoing current situation in which migrants are risking their lives in sailing in small boats across the ocean to reach the hope of a better life. Many die trying and we have a big problem if human empathy is lost for those who do survive.

Adrenaline, keep me sane
Take me on waves of freedom
The water is clear, unlike me
Heavy heart, salty skin
Help me dream again
But the waves keep coming
And I can’t see
Lost and found, man down,
Water reflects less now
Heads hang low
To and fro
It’s do or die
The tension is high
And the land is nigh
And my dreams run dry
There I see
Right there in the distance
This is my chance to dive,
And there in the distance
I’m the only wave to survive
The only wave to survive
Adrenaline has kept me sane
It’s taken me waves of freedom
To bring me here
To set me free
And heavy hearts and salty skin
Help me dream again
And now I´ll stop running
´Cause now I’m free
Now I’m free
Oooh in the distance
This is my chance to dive
And there in the distance
I’m the only wave to survive
The only wave to survive
The Now
This is our more electronic rock track, it is about living in the present moment and being enlightened by overcoming fear. The chorus,´ Taste the sun´, was written just before the mass Covid-19 lockdown and we all felt like we needed to get out and be free again- so it was always one of our favourites to jam- even more, now -we can finally taste some sun!

In the void
Looking at my now
Wisdom’s rain…
And lightening vision
Is this me?
I wanna taste
the sun!
I wanna taste
the sun!
When we’re sinking
Dying in the blue…
Our Legacies drowning
Cause we never thought we could
Is this you?
Is this you?
I wanna taste
the sun!
Oh let me taste
I wanna taste
the sun!
I wanna taste, taste the sun
I wanna test the sun
Oh let me taste the sun!
I wanna taste, taste taste, taste the sun
Oh let me taste, taste taste, taste the sun
CONCERTS! woohoo!
We have recently partnered up with Font Page news, Barcelona who are organizing shows and concerts with other musicians around Barcelona. We had a small gig in April in La Rubia theatre, which sold out here in Barcelona, although audience numbers were restricted, we had an incredible time playing live after so long, the audience was ace and there were beers and smiles throughout! Loved it! For many of our songs, it was the first time for an audience to hear them. We recently played at La Rubia, Barcelona in April, which sold out and incorporated two other brilliant acts as well. We had excellent feedback from everyone and shot part of the music video for our most recent release, The Now. The video shows our outtakes and personal recordings from rehearsal sessions, so has some terribly good clips of us all!
Our next gigs are looking to be set in La Raima and Arena bar, Barcelona; and this means we will be in bigger spaces than before, therefore allowing more of you to attend. We also have a podcast interview coming out soon with Dillon Cloud at Front Page News, a psychedelic indie and blues artist, in order for you to discover more about how Foxiloro started and what our inspirations for the songs have been. We also talk about how the Covid-19 confinement helped us concentrate on the recording process and how we stayed positive throughout the last year. Keep watching our social media for the next releases: The Quoter and Techno Infliction, coming out at the end of summer; podcasts and dates of events and gigs:
